Live a Healthy Life after COVID-19

It’s been a year since the pandemic started.

We had a year of adapting ourselves to isolation, online food deliveries, virtual classes and gym sessions, and so much more.

Covid-19 had indeed affected our physical health and mental health.

But slowly, things are getting better!

The end of the pandemic may be around the corner, or at least that’s what we’re hoping for. We have to start getting our lives in order, plan to fix what has broken.

But how?

PHYSICAL HEALTH

Establish plans to manage how your exercise routine will be. Some may have continued working out at home, but many stopped to focus on adapting to their new work from home or virtual class lifestyle. Break the negative cycle by including a physical activity into your daily routine.

During quarantine, we reached the point of compulsively eating unhealthy food. Now that places are open again, we can add as many healthy foods and more variety into our lives, instead of continuing fast food deliveries. We better start watching what we put into our bodies.

To make adapting easier for our physical health, here are a few tips and tricks.

  1. Listening to music that will energize you to do physical activities.

  2. Look for easy & healthy recipes that you could make at home. Have a list of go-to meals you can resort to if you get busy or stuck.

  3. If you’re having cravings, go for healthy alternatives like these.

  4. Treat yourself to a spa day, a movie, or something you really enjoy as a reward for achieving weekly exercise goals. *Do not reward yourself with bad food, that defeats the purpose... plus you're not a dog LOL. 😆

  5. Prepare your weekly menu to ensure proper diet and avoid unhealthy improvisation.

    MENTAL HEALTH

Even though technology made socialization easier, many still felt lonely and helpless during quarantine. While others are experiencing increased anxiety or burnout. This is the time, though, to give yourself a break. Find new hobbies such as gardening, or hiking. Others try out puzzle games to keep their mind in perfect shape. Seek what helps you feel great and increase your self-confidence.

Here are some tips that can help maintain or improve your mental health as we put an end to the fight against Covid-19.

    1. Give time every day to do what you enjoy in life, to lessen stress and anxiety.

    2. Practice meditation to relax your body and mind.

    3. Use social media carefully, many false and misleading information might stress you out more.

    4. Take care of yourself physically by keeping your body in tip-top shape.

    5. Take each day as it comes and focus on what you can control.

Remember that our physical and mental health are intertwined.

Be sure to keep both in good shape as the pandemic comes to an end, and we can finally begin a new time in our lives.
