Healthy Sweet Tooth Satisfactions

Healthy Sweet Tooth Satisfactions

Have you ever encountered that intense urge to eat something sweet at least once in your life, and you try to control yourself but fail?

Sugar cravings are normal, particularly among women.

It’s okay to indulge yourself occasionally, but the problem starts when you start consuming amounts of sugar regularly.

Luckily, there are other ways to manage your cravings and healthy alternatives you can indulge in.

Here are some healthier options for you to fulfill your sweet tooth urges!

Fruits. Fruits are the first thing you should grab when you’re looking for something sweet because they’re filled with natural sweeteners, fibers, and other essential compounds. Mangoes and grapes are both sweet fruits to enjoy if you’re looking for something sweeter. Also, fruits can be mixed with other ingredients such as yogurt, milk, or dark chocolate.

Yogurt. A snack rich in protein and calcium, yogurt happens to be a good snack to regulate your appetite and control your cravings. When searching for yogurt, choose one that contains live cultures and is free of added sugar.

Chia Seeds. Known as a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, fibers, and other essential nutrients, chia seeds are easy to add to any dish and can make you feel fuller for longer. As a result, you won’t get a sugar craving.

Dark Chocolate. Dark chocolate, which contains more than 70% cocoa and less sugar than your usual chocolates, may taste bitter, but it is the most widely known food to eat when craving sweets. Keep in mind to check the sugar and fat content, even if it’s dark chocolate, as they still contain some sugar and fat.

Smoothies. Fruits may be blended into a smoothie with this protein to please the sweet tooth while still supplying beneficial nutrients. And using whole fruits rather than fruit-flavored juices would be a huge bonus since you’d be getting a good dose of fiber.

Tina Hales even mentioned how she uses supplements, like Deurca Sports Nutrition’s Glutamine and Superior Whey Isolate, whenever she and her husband indulge in sweet food and drinks without sacrificing anything:

Fermented Food. This type of food is abundant in beneficial bacteria and can help you sustain a balanced diet, which could affect your appetite and food consumption. Yogurt, kimchi, and kombucha are only a handful of the many fermented foods that can be healthy options.

Sweet Potatoes. Sugar cravings are believed to be the result of not eating enough. Mixing sweet potatoes into your meals adds calories while providing you the sweet taste you’re looking for. Sweet potatoes are also filled with potassium, vitamins A and C, and fiber.

It’s okay to satisfy your sweet tooth needs, and there’s no reason to feel bad about it. If you want something sweet, consider substituting healthier options for your sugar-filled treats. But if find that your cravings are getting out of control or that they are recurring on a daily basis, then it might be time to rethink your diet.
